LevelK at Rome / MIA market: Line-up 2022

Dear Friends,

We are excited to share our current line-up for Rome / MIA market which our Head of Sales, Debra Liang will be attending.

KAYMAK a Macedonian drama directed by the Oscar nominated director Milcho Manchevski (Willow) about the worlds of two couples which are turned upside down, when af third person enters their relationship. The film will have its world premiere at Tokyo IFF where it is selected for competition. - Screening link available upon request.

GREAT YARMOUTH - PROVISIONAL FIGURES recently world premiered in competition at San Sebastian. This Portuguese drama by Marco Martins (Saint George) is about the migrant workers coming to the UK to work in harsh conditions at the turkey-processing factories. - Screening link available upon request.

THE CAKE DYNASTY a Danish satire drama about a cake factory owner on the verge of suicide, who falls in love and teams up with the factory's cleaning lady Zeinab to make new cakes which might save the factory, but has potential to ruin his family. The Film world premiered in competition at Zürich FF - Screening link available upon request.

THE KNOCKING a Finnish horror about three adult siblings returning to their childhood home, where their parents were allegedly murdered many years ago. The plan is to get the house and estate ready to be sold but there’s something evil that tries to prevent them from doing so. The film will world premiere in competition at Sitges FF - Screening link available upon request.

THE KISS a Danish period drama by Bille August (The Pact) about an officer who catches the interest of the daughter of a wealthy Baron, however she is bound to a wheelchair, so as his feelings for her grows he can’t figure out whether it is pity or true love. - Screening link available upon request.

The Kiss

The Kiss

Period drama set in 1913 in Denmark where Anton, a noble and conscientious young man whose top priority, is to complete his training as a cavalry officer. During a training session he orders his platoon to help Baron von Løvenskjold and finds himself invited to a ball at the castle where he meets the Baron’s beautiful daughter Edith who has been in an accident and ended up in a wheelchair. She is miserable, but lights up when it turns out that Anton treats her as if she was like the rest of the guests and not bound to a wheelchair. Anton feels a growing compassion towards Edith, and as the two spend more time together he grows fond of her. However, he can’t figure out whether his feelings are of pity or true love, and in his attempt at doing the right thing he gets ever more entangled in promises, lies, and responsibility towards the Løvenskjold family and to Edith.
