At Toronto and Venice, we have an exciting line up consisting of four titles: The Swedish horror movie THE HOME, the English language surrealistic drama MR. K, which is selected for competition at Toronto FF in the Platform section, WAY HOME, the Danish drama that will world premiere with the opening of the New Nordic Films market in Haugesund, and lastly we have the new Slovenian family title BLOCK 5, which just had its world premiere at Locarno Film Festival as the first Slovenian film in the Kids Screening section.
THE HOME: Joel reluctantly returns to his childhood home to help his mother Monika, who has suffered a severe stroke and was clinically dead for minutes. Monika is unrecognizable and Joel becomes convinced that something has followed her back from the other side.
MR. K: A traveling magician, finds himself in a Kafkaesque nightmare when he can’t find the exit of the hotel, he has slept in. His attempts to get out only pull him deeper, entangling him further with the hotel and its curious inhabitants.
WAY HOME: Christian embarks on a perilous journey into war-torn Syria to find his missing son, Adam. As he navigates the brutal landscape, he must confront the limits of his morals and the sacrifices he's willing to make for his family.
BLOCK 5: After moving to a new neighborhood, 12-year-old Alma must join forces with her rival, Luna, and her skate gang to save their local playground from being demolished. Their battle turns into a lesson on unity and forgiveness.
