PRESS RELEASE: LevelK Pre-Sells The Incredible Story of the Giant Pear
International sales and distribution outfit LevelK has closed its first raft of deals on upcoming Danish 3D animation ‘The Incredible Story of the Giant Pear’ ahead of Marché du Film in Cannes.
The family film centers on the two friends, the Elephant Sebastian and the Cat Mitcho whose life peacefully passes by in the city of Solby until they one day find a message in a bottle by the harbor. The bottle is from the missing Mayor of Solby with a message that he is on The Mysterious Island and has made a great discovery. They must embark on a great journey full of peculiar hazards, dangerous pirates, ghosts and a huge underwater dragon, to help save the Mayor and bring him home; in the process they6 uncover something that will bring great pleasure to the city of Solby – a Giant Pear.
The film has been acquired for more than 50 countries including Hungary and Romania (ADS Service LTD), Iran (Century 21 Visual Media Company), Middle East (Empire Networks LLP), Estonia (Estin Film), France and Benelux (Ninety-Seven Film Production), Bulgaria (Pro Films), Croatia and Slovenia (Radar), Poland (Vivarto Sp.Zo.o) and Korea (Yejilim Entertainment).
Distributors will get a chance to get an update on the production process and a peak behind the curtains tomorrow morning, when director Philip Einstein Lipski present the project in two exclusive events at the Scandinavian Terrace.
This is the first collaboration between the three directors Philip Einstein Lipski, Joergen Lerdam and Amalie Naesby Fick. Previously Philip directed the Danish animation feature film ‘Ronal the Barbarian’ (2011), Joergen has directed a ton of International and Danish animated films among others: Niko & The Way To The Stars 1 and 2, Jungle Jack 1, 2 and 3, The Olsen Gang, Pettson & Findus etc. Amalie is newly graduated from the Danish Film School Amalie and having her feature debut with “The Incredible Story of the Giant Pear”.
