PRESS RELEASE: LevelK clinches major deals on The Incredible Story of the Giant Pear

AFM: Danish animation and box office smash continues to impress buyers all over the world. International sales outfit LevelK has now closed a number of new deals on the film, securing distribution in more than 100 countries.

 

The film has recently been picked up for distribution in China and Hong Kong (Bravos Pictures Ltd), Vietnam (GREEN MEDIA), South East Asia (ASTRO), Spain and Andorra (Pack Magic), and Russia/CIS (NDPlay/Kinologistika).

 

The film was previously sold to France and Benelux (Ninety-Seven Film Production), Korea (Yejilim Entertainment), Hungary and Romania (ADS Service), Poland (Vivarto), Middle East (Empire Networks), Estonia (Estin Film), Bulgaria (Pro Films), Croatia and Slovenia (Radar), and Iran (Century 21).

 

Directed by Philip Einstein Lipski, Amalie Næsby Fick and Jørgen Lerdam, the exciting and spectacular family animation follows Mitcho and Sebastian, who sets out on a great adventure full of peculiar hazards, dangerous pirates, ghosts and a huge underwater dragon, to help save the missing Mayor of Sunnytown and bring him home.

 

The film celebrated a successful local release on October 12th, 2017 with almost 163.000 admissions in two weeks. LevelK has great expectations at the upcoming American Film Market and the future journey of the film.

Thomas Heinesen and Trine Heidegaard produce for Nordisk Film Productions A/S. The script is written by Bo Hr. Hansen based on the Danish children’s book by Jakob Martin Strid. It was financed by The Danish Film Institute, NFTVF, The Danish Broadcasting Corporation and MEDIA with a budget of 2.5 million EUR.
