HK Filmart is approaching and even if we would have preferred to meet you face to face, then we look forward to seeing you online, where we have three very different and interesting titles.
Our Nordic Horror BREEDER directed by Jens Dahl, director of 3 Things and co-writer of Nicolas Winding Refn’s Pusher. The film centres around Mia who discovers that a health supplement company has an underground facility where biohacking experiments are performed. As she begins to work out the truth she finds herself trapped, branded and tortured. BREEDER is written by Sissel Dalsgaard Thomsen (The Return) and produced by Amalie Lyngbo Quist (Cutterhead, Psykosia) & Maria Møller Christoffersen (Koko-di Koko-da) for Beo Starling.
The line-up also includes the Zaida Bergroth (Miami, Maria’s Paradise) directed Finish drama TOVE about the artistic struggles and unconventional personal life of Tove Jansson who found worldwide success from an unexpected side project and ended up creation the beloved world of the Moomins. TOVE is a captivating drama about the creative energy of an iconic talent and her turbulent search for identity, desire and freedom. The film is produced by Andrea Reuter (Dogs Don't Wear Pants) and Aleksi Bardy (Tom of Finland) for Helsinki-filmi.
And lastly our newest acquisition, the uplifting danish drama THE FOOD CLUB, directed by Barbara Topsøe-Rothenborg (One-Two-Three Now!) about Three life long girlfriends travel to Italy together to attend a cooking course in Puglia, and here they each find the opportunity to redefine themselves. THE FOOD CLUB is written by Anne-Marie Olesen Thinghuus (Black Widows), and produced by Nina Lyng and Eva Juel Hammerich (The Shamer's Daughter - Simon and Malou) for Nepenthe Film, in co-production with LUME Film in Italy and co-produced by Adriano Bassi and Lara Calligaro.
