LevelK at Asian Film Market 2019

Dear Friends,

We are very excited to announce our greatly varied lineup for this year's edition of the Asian Film Market in Busan!

First up is PHOTOGRAPHER OF WAR, an intense and unflinching documentary feature about the world-renowned Danish war photographer Jan Grarup. When his ex-wife is diagnosed with terminal cancer, Grarup has to take care of his children back home while frequently visiting the hotspots of the world – including Mosul in Iraq, where death and ongoing warfare surrounds Grarup and the film crew. PHOTOGRAPHER OF WAR will have its world premiere at Nordisk Panorama, where it is selected for competition. Local release on September 19 by Camera Film.

Next is H IS FOR HAPPINESS, a heartwarming Australian family film starring Richard Roxburgh (Moulin Rouge), Miriam Margolyes (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows), and gifted newcomer Daisy Axon. The film tells the story of an optimistic 12-year-old girl who uses a school project to help her separated family get back together. H IS FOR HAPPINESS recently won the $100,000 Film Prize at Cinefest Oz and received a great review in Screen. It was also called "an immediate Australian classic" in an ecstatic review in The Curb. Local release in 2020 by Universal.

The last of our three main focus titles is MARIA'S PARADISE, a riveting drama from acclaimed Finnish director Zaida Bergroth. MARIA'S PARADISE had its world premiere at TIFF as part of the Contemporary World Cinema section, and the engaging true story of a cult leader and her devout followers has been getting positive reviews (from Screen among others). With powerful performances and excellent direction, this is definitely one to watch. Local release on October 4th by Nordisk Film.

We are also bringing the adventurous and charming Danish family film CAPTAIN BIMSE alongside THE EXCEPTION, a Danish psychological thriller starring Sidse Babett Knudsen (WestworldBorgen) and Amanda Collin (A Horrible Woman), as well as the Australian romantic comedy STANDING UP FO SUNNY starring RJ Mitte (Breaking Bad).

Furthermore, we are presenting the upcoming project LONE WOLF starring Hugo Weaving (The Matrix, V for Vendetta) and Tilda Cobham-Hervey (Hotel Mumbai). Focusing on both sides of the law, the film tells an intense story of fanaticism and terrorism set in Sydney. Local release in 2020 by Label Distribution.
