Our lineup include the English language horror ghost story MARTYRS LANE (post-prod) about Leah, 10, who lives in a large vicarage, full of lost souls and the needy, with her parents, busy with their ministry and her older sister. In the day the house is bustling with people; at night it is dark, empty, and a space for Leah's nightmares to creep into. The film which is BFI funded is written and directed by Ruth Platt (The Black Forrest) and produced by Christine Alderson (Valhalla Rising) and Katie Hodgkin (Bruno) for Ipso Facto Productions. Also on our lineup is the uplifting danish drama THE FOOD CLUB, directed by Barbara Topsøe-Rothenborg (One-Two-Three Now!) about three life long girlfriends who travels to Italy together to attend a cooking course, and here they each find the opportunity to redefine themselves. THE FOOD CLUB is written by Anne-Marie Olesen Thinghuus (Black Widows), and produced by Nina Lyng and Eva Juel Hammerich (The Shamer's Daughter - Simon and Malou) for Nepenthe Film, in co-production with LUME Film in Italy and co-produced by Adriano Bassi and Lara Calligaro. The lineup also includes the Zaida Bergroth (Miami, Maria’s Paradise) directed Finish drama TOVE about the artistic struggles and unconventional personal life of Tove Jansson who found worldwide success from an unexpected side project and ended up creation the beloved world of the Moomins. TOVE is a captivating drama about the creative energy of an iconic talent and her turbulent search for identity, desire and freedom. The film is produced by Andrea Reuter (Dogs Don't Wear Pants) and Aleksi Bardy (Tom of Finland) for Helsinki-filmi. Screener is available.
Lastly, we have our newest acquisition THE SCHOOLMASTER GAMES (currently shooting) a Swedish erotic queer drama, written and directed by first time director Ylva Forner. The film is an adaptation of the popular novel Magisterlekarna by Kristofer Folkhammar and centers around St. Sebastian Academy and all gay male school which pulsates of eroticism and power games that the strict Schoolmaster orchestrates. The film mainly consists of a young cast of up and coming actors, with Christian Arnold (The House That Jack Built) and Johan Ehn (Alena) in the lead and is produced by Sofia Ferguson for Northern Fable. The film is expected to be released in the end of 2021. Script is available.
